Today's article in the New York Times about the Berlin Philharmonic's education programs reaffirms my hope that one result of the retreat will be that we think more broadly about musical creativity and participation. By applying a consistent approach -- people can be creative in and through music! -- they have been able to develop a number of exciting projects and have capitalized on them by integrating use a variety of media.
