My 10 year old son is a diehard Yankees fan (I'm a Mets fan, it's a long story...). A couple of years ago, I clicked on a button on the Yankees website that offered me the chance to receive a "postgame alert." Now, years later I still receive an email after each game with the boxscore, the homeruns, the winning pitcher, info about the next game and a link to buy a ticket to the next series of home games. As soon as one of these emails arrives, I relate the info to my son, we talk about the result, curse the Red Sox... It has created more of a relationship between us and the team, and I do buy tickets to Yankees games so we can go together, even though I'd rather be at Shea. (Once in a while he even indulges me and goes out to Queens!)
In the same way, we have a live event that changes every night -- wouldn't it be cool to hear how things had gone, what the attendance was, whether there was an encore (and if so what it was), all the stats and info that sum up aspects of the concert experience. We know we have a devoted public, but as Doug and Paul ask, are we doing enough to take them from concertgoer to devoted family member?
